Fallbrook STEM Academy’s 4th-grade students are making a difference by helping to save the Appleton Preserve! They began the day by learning about the various preserves in Fallbrook, including Los Jilgueros and the Appleton Preserve. The students then planted native species such as Black Sage, California Buckwheat, and Coyote Bush.
These plants will be nurtured at a local nursery for six weeks. In January, 5th-grade students will transport the plants to the preserve and plant them in the ground. This initiative aims to restore wildlife habitats and promote biodiversity, in collaboration with the Fallbrook Land Conservancy.
